We tried to see the changing of guards in front of Buckingham Palace, but that didn’t work out too well. I heard it gets crowded, but no one warned how insanely crowded this ceremony gets. You may need to camp out early to get the best view. Despite the rainy weather tourists crowded the gate just to view this world famous ceremony.
However we did see some sort of guard ceremony or drill while we were at the Tower of London. The place was a bit touristy, but not at all crowded. With people in costumes walking around and posing with tourist. I’ll be honest, I have no idea the significance of this “show” was. I even asked the Beefeater, but didn’t really get a straight answer.
The Tower of London is a massive fortress started during the time of William the Conqueror. It is rich with history and known as the place of Anne Boleyn’s imprisonment and beheading. It is also where the Royal jewels are secured and put on display.
